An evening or weekend with no plans can be dull at the best of times! Now that we all self-isolating and in the midst of lockdown due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it can leave the most upbeat person feeling a tad fed up!
As we spend longer indoors, many of us have turned to entertainment to help pass the time. You may have caught up on your Netflix must-watch list by now or finished your favourite Netflix series and are looking for another way to stay entertained.
Following on from our self-isolation guide here at Aspen, we have rounded up the top 4 Comedians that you must check out! So, if you feel bored of the norm and want to explore some alternatives to staying busy during lockdown, then read on!

1. Kiri Pritchard-McClean
Born in Gloucester and raised on a farm in Anglesey, Wales. Kiri Pritchard-McClean has performed for several consecutive years at the Edinburgh Fringe and has also won 2 Chortle Awards.
Not only a double Chortle winner, she is a stand-up Comedian, writer and satirist. Her television appearances include Have I Got News for You, The Russell Howards Hour and Stand up central.
Also, a regular on BCC Radio, Kiri often co-hosts on Rhod Gilberts radio show. She is a regular on the live circuit and will keep you entertained with stand up shows that covers everything from Clubbing in your 30’s to differences between the opposite sex. Be sure to tune into her shows for an honest and downright hilarious take on our everyday lives.

2. Sophie Duker
Oxford-educated Sophie Duker first got into comedy via Oxford Imps Improv Troupe and has since landed on appearances in 8 out of 10 cats, Mock the week and Frankie Boyles New World Order. She was also nominated for the best newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019. She has described herself as a “sexy-cerebral comedy underdog” and is set to make big waves when her 2020 tour can be rescheduled. She jokes about a range of topics including “stalking each other’s Twitter accounts”, “Do millennials have it better?” and “the funny thing about privilege”. Sophie is sure to keep you entertained with her humorous views on modern day life.

3. Loyiso Gola
Loyiso Gola is a South-African stand-up comedian, and the co-creator of the late-night news series Late Nite News. He also has a Netflix special which is part of the upcoming series Comedians of the world. Loyiso stars in comedy debates about topics such as “all you need is love” for an alternative take on how comedy can be delivered. He also appears Live At The Apollo and features his comedy around real-life debates such as “British racism is too subtle” He has also done stand-up at various Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala’s and is set for a UK tour very soon. Be sure to check Loyiso out for very honest and controversial stand-up topics.

4. Daniel Sloss
Daniel Sloss is a Scottish comedian, writer and actor, he is an internationally acclaimed and award-winning stand-up comedian. Daniel released 2 hour-long comedy specials for Netflix in 2018, which include “DARK” and “Jigsaw”. Still only 29 years old, Daniel has created 10 solo touring shows and has performed 5 solo New York seasons off Broadway. His humour has some dark elements from the deeply personal to the downright irreverent. Be sure to check him out for a weird and wonderful take on Comedy.
